Alena makes everything better.

I'm a sucker for bad reality television, so I'm sure to watch all my favorite shows every week. Tonight, I was getting all set to watch the Bachelorette. I turned Alena's show off a little before 8, like I always do when a show I watch is about to come on, and turned the channel to ABC. Shortly after, a commercial for the Bachelorette came on and said to watch the show tomorrow at 8. Shocked, I said "Tomorrow?!?" and went onto TVguide.com to look at the TV listings. I wondered why they would move the show to Tuesday with only 1 episode left in the season. Just then I realized that today wasn't Monday, it was Sunday. I said "ooohhhhh it's Sunday!" Alena spoke up and said "That's okay mom, it'll be on tomorrow."


On another note... the beginning of tonight's Extreme Home Makeover was exceptionally sad.

Alena and I went to look at apartments today, 2 in the same house. The first one had a staircase on the outside, which I didn't like because it would be a pain to carry laundry, groceries, etc. up the stairs all the time, and I'd be worried about Alena too. So I asked the landlord if I could see the other apartment available, but he was hesitant because the previous renter had just moved out and left the place a mess. He said he was embarrassed to show it to me, but ended up letting me look at it. It was a mess. There were clothes and garbage all over the place, but he said a cleaning crew was coming in this week to clean it. I told him that I liked the place and wanted to live there (It's closer to town, the rent is cheap, and the gas bills should definitely be cheaper than I'm paying now), and then Alena and I went home.

Later, Alena and I were eating dinner and she asked when we were going to move into the new place. I told her probably in a few weeks. She said "can we right now?" and I said "Do you really want to move in there with all that crap everywhere?" So she says "Weeeelllllll.. when's the crap lady coming?" hahaha... I busted up laughing. She's so funny.

Super Alena to the rescue!

While I was making dinner today, I decided to cut up a watermelon that Mom had given me. Alena comes up to me with a blanket over her shoulders (like a cape) and says "Super Alena! What problem do you have?" So I tell her "My problem is that I don't know who is going to help me eat all this watermelon?!" She said "I will help you eat it!" I said "you will?? oh thank you!" To which she replied, "yes, but I can't eat a lot of it or else I won't eat dinner!" lol. I love her. She's such a good girl and ALWAYS entertaining!

I miss my Mommy!

At church on Mother's day, Alena's friend Kyra wanted her to go sit with her a couple of pews back. Alena went and sat there for just a minute and all of a sudden said. "I miss my mommy!" and came right back up to sit beside her mom! :)

Beards are silly.

Alena's Grandpa B is growing a beard for an upcoming event at a postal convention. Alena's never seen him with a beard, so when she saw him with a scruffy face today, she said "Grandpa... what's that on your face?" So he said "I'm growing a beard," to which she replied "Well you look silly." haha :)

She also told him "Happy Mother's Day!" in church today... lol

All about the Bean.

This blog is just for posting random stories about my daughter, Alena. She's currently 3 years old (she'll be 4 in July), and she says and does the funniest things. So this blog is just sort of a space to write about the things that she does so that we can read about them later and remember them. I honestly wish I had done this all along, because I've probably forgotten about most of the cute things she's done.

My mom will also have access to posting on this blog, so that she can share her stories about Alena too :)
